poetry

Below are examples of poetry I have written between the years of 2004 and 2014.

  honest lips still lie

2014

I hear you better with your mouth closed.

I can't endure the lies you've imposed.

So if actions do speak louder than words,

Let's be mute and finally hear the truth.

          goodbye

2013

I have to know

How things will go

If I stay

And although we're trying

I feel like I'm dying

This way

I'll never forget

All the things that you said

To me

I shouldn't let

These things like regret

Break me

Help me decide

With your own two eyes

If we are meant to see

This hopeless illusion

It has no conclusion

Except pain and misery

It just goes to show

That all that we know

Is deceiving

So with all that said

There must be an end

I've made my amends

I'm leaving

      four seasons

2011

The Autumn moon,

It sang a tune,

One night from dusk til' dawn.

The Summer's gone,

And not too long,

Will Winter soon creep on.

    fall and remove

2010

To lose and be lost

is a journey of absence

to figure the cost

of emotion.

To love and be loved

is the crack of a whip

to sting, bruise, and encompass.

Make steady fast

to escape existence.

As elegant as death,

we part.

And to stay in the circle,

the loop of shame,

you must learn to sacrifice your beliefs.

         nostalgia

2014

When you look at a photo

Of a time before

Oh how it was so normal

In the moment.

But you wish and you yearn

That you could get that moment back

Wishing for something different

Than just right now.

It’s those things that you appreciate

After they’re gone

Never knowing how extraordinary

Normal could be.

Remembering emotions

And the feel of winter’s breeze

From a photo of a memory

Of who you were.

A Little About Zoe

Zoe grew up in a couple of different Floridian cities, the first of which being Indialantic, a small island community right off of the coast of Melbourne. Most recently (before her four years in Tallahassee), she lived in the Bay Area, and now lives there again after completing her Bachelor's degree. In her free time she enjoys being in nature and spending time with her family. Throughout her life, she has dabbled in many creative endeavors. She has had experience in painting, writing, music production, singing, DJing, acting, modeling, photo editing, photography and now, design. When a designer shapes a space, s/he shapes the experiences of the people within that space. She believes that design is a powerful tool as a marriage of psychology and art, and refining the use of this tool can change and inspire any person who comes into contact with the design. Zoe is determined to change lives by creating the most comfortable and sustainable future possible for the people, for herself, and for the wellness of the world.

Success!
